History of the Factory

Confectionery factory Zhytomyrski Lasoschi, which recently changed its name to ZhL, was founded in 1944. In those difficult war years 130 kg of spice cakes, cookies and hard biscuits were produced during one shift, and they mainly went to the front. Production was gathering pace actively. For example, in 1945 Ukrkonditertrest approved a plan for the company to produce 500 tons of products, whereas in 2011 such quantity is produced during only 2 days. Since its establishment, ZhL has grown into a large enterprise with a wide range of products. At the Soviet time, our experts working for the factory shared their experience and expertise with most of confectionery factories of the republic. Thanks to the modernization in 2006-2009, the production capacities have increased several times and now they are 70,000 tons per year. Confectionery knowledge and experience acquired over the years of work have been supplemented with modern possibilities and technologies. Our product range has changed significantly too. Nowadays the factory’s confectioners offer the consumer modern interesting sweets that often do not have analogues in the CIS. But no matter how work conditions and methods changed, the principle of quality and tasty products manufacturing will always be immutable.
